striped entry reveal

Today is the big day, I am revealing the foyer makeover I did for the imagine the impossibilities challenge!

Last week I kept you posted on my progress as I transformed our entry from blah and boring to bright and bold!

BEFORE

AFTER

I am LOVING my new foyer!

As it turned out painting the stripes on the wall wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. The hardest part was painting all the brown trim over and over again ( three coats). All the hard work was definitely worth it!

Thank you ladies for throwing down this challenge or I may have never gotten up the nerve to start this project.

Can't wait to link up for the big party on the 31st! Please see side bar to find out what sites to visit. I am sooo looking forward to seeing how everyone else did with their challenge!

  4. Congratulations on achieving the 'impossible' - I know that painting the woodwork is sooo boring, but it really was worth it. And coupled with the stripes, your hallway looks outstanding !

  8. Very fun, but still "grown up," elegant, and welcoming. Really great.

  9. The stripes look great...were they difficult?

    1. They weren't as hard as I thought they would be. The trick is to use a chalk line to get straight lines. I also was careful not to load too much paint on my roller so it wouldn't get under the tape. Thanks for stopping by.

  18. That really is a great makeover that you have done! There are some lovely original ideas and you have made it "your own". I really admire people who have a vision like this: I'm afraid I would have been too much of a coward and stuck with the "meh" look! Well done for achieving your Impossibility challenge!

  23. I can't believe that you accomplished so much in so little time! When you first told me what you planned to do ... I was a bit skeptical. Huge job and executed so well! Love the white trim and ballisters, the black door and, of course, those amazingly even stripes! I will be pinning away ...

Thanks so much for taking on our Impossibilities challenge!

    1. Trust me I was skeptical myself that I had bitten off more then I could chew. I think it's better sometimes to give yourself a deadline because it forces you to keep going. Thank you for your gracious comments!
