Today is the big day, I am revealing the foyer makeover I did for the imagine the impossibilities challenge!
Last week I kept you posted on my progress as I transformed our entry from blah and boring to bright and bold!
BEFORE
BEFORE
AFTER
I am LOVING my new foyer!
As it turned out painting the stripes on the wall wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. The hardest part was painting all the brown trim over and over again ( three coats). All the hard work was definitely worth it!
Thank you ladies for throwing down this challenge or I may have never gotten up the nerve to start this project.
Can't wait to link up for the big party on the 31st! Please see side bar to find out what sites to visit. I am sooo looking forward to seeing how everyone else did with their challenge!
Amy
Oh gosh, that's lovely, the horizontal strips are awesome! Congrats on completing your impossibility!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on meeting the challenge! That was quite the project and it came out just beautiful!!! I love the stripes and the fresh new trim paint, it makes a huge difference, doesn't it.
Hugs, Cindy
It looks great- wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! Great job!
ReplyDeleteTotally diggin' the stripes! They are so cool! Isn't it amazing how a little paint can transform an entire room? Love your foyer!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on achieving the 'impossible' - I know that painting the woodwork is sooo boring, but it really was worth it. And coupled with the stripes, your hallway looks outstanding !
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love! My favorite part is the white trim.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! I especially love the new blue door!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this on the Take it on Tuesday blog hop. I'm pinning this to share with others!

Oh I love it now!! It looks so fresh with the white trim! Great job on the stripes too!
ReplyDeleteVery fun, but still "grown up," elegant, and welcoming. Really great.
ReplyDeleteThe stripes look great...were they difficult?
ReplyDeleteThey weren't as hard as I thought they would be. The trick is to use a chalk line to get straight lines. I also was careful not to load too much paint on my roller so it wouldn't get under the tape. Thanks for stopping by.

I LOVE it! I love the stripes, I love the blue mason jars, I love the word art. I love it all. So lovely! Thanks so much for linking up to the challenge!! Karah
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I am really enjoying the space. Is it weird to want to just sit in your hallway?

This amazing! I love what you've done. Those stripes did the trick. Love the ledge with the photos!
ReplyDeleteThat really is a great makeover that you have done! There are some lovely original ideas and you have made it "your own". I really admire people who have a vision like this: I'm afraid I would have been too much of a coward and stuck with the "meh" look! Well done for achieving your Impossibility challenge!
ReplyDeleteThose stripes look great! Awesome job :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the stripes! And I love the blue mason jars on the shelf. Please stop by and share with my readers if you get a chance.

I can't believe that you accomplished so much in so little time! When you first told me what you planned to do ... I was a bit skeptical. Huge job and executed so well! Love the white trim and ballisters, the black door and, of course, those amazingly even stripes! I will be pinning away ...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking on our Impossibilities challenge!
Linda
Trust me I was skeptical myself that I had bitten off more then I could chew. I think it's better sometimes to give yourself a deadline because it forces you to keep going. Thank you for your gracious comments!

ReplyDeleteLove your foyer, great job! I want to do the same with mine. What is the width of the stripes? 12"??? Others I've seen are too skinny. Yours are PERFECt! I'm going to paint mine in grays. My interior front door is painted a slate teal. Thank you for sharing!

Mine are 10.4 inches each! Good luck with your stripes, it is so worth the effort!
