Fall front porch

My front porch is finally set up for fall! I didn't do a ton of work just some flowers, pumpkins and decorations we already had.

I reused the fall wreath that I made last year. You can read more about that here.

Our new addition...to the family room

I just wanted to pop in today and share the new addition I made to our family room.

It's the black and sand chevron indoor/outdoor rug from Ballard Designs. It works well with all our brown furniture and black accessories!

I'm still looking for ideas on how to address those quarter moon windows in the room. I would love to just cover them up with some built in bookcases on both sides of our fireplace, but the hubby is against the idea. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for coming by today!

Cafe Press review

Last month I shared with you a new site that I was introduced to called CAFE PRESS. If you missed that post you can find it here.

I was given the opportunity to pick out a few items to review for you. I must say that once I got to shopping on their website I had a difficult time narrowing down my order. They have a nice selection of chevron shower curtains that I'm in love with {thinking about a little makeover in the kids bathroom soon}!

I finally decided on two t-shirts for my daughter and a canvas bag for myself {typical mom fashion...kids first}.

I literally spent an hour just looking at t-shirts and came across a section of unicorn tops...LOL! Once I saw that my decision was made. Let me explain...my thirteen year old {tomboy} daughter has a huge unicorn obsession {weird I know}. I knew she would flip out for these shirts, and I was right she absolutely loved them.

She insisted her giant unicorn join her!

Anyway, I was really happy with the shirts when they arrived. They weren't too thin {some shirts are so thin she has to wear a tank underneath} good quality material.

I ordered myself a canvas bag to help haul all my stuff to my kids activities; keys, cell phone, book, water bottle, etc. I had to have the chevron one of course!

I really love the colors of the design, coral and mint green. Plus it's the perfect size to carry to soccer games, dance practice, etc.

I definitely plan on shopping with them again in the future. Head on over and check out there wide range of products from home décor to clothing, many of which can be personalized for you.

Have a great day!

Fall display shelf

I'm slowly in the process of getting our home ready for fall! I finally swapped out our back to school display for something more fall like. This shelf hangs in our entry hallway so everyone who visits our home walks by it.

I found the free printable here. I just loved the color and of course the chevron pattern! I got the white vase on clearance at Target a few weeks ago. The wheat came from Hobby Lobby and I picked up the ceramic pumpkins at the Dollar Tree.

This weekend I want to work on decorating our front porch and I'll be back to share that next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Dictionary page banner

It's finally beginning to feel like fall here in Ohio. The weather is getting a bit cooler and the foliage has begun changing color. I love the fall and all the beautiful colors that it brings.

Last week I attempted to bring a bit of fall to our home with a small mantel makeover and a diy banner made with pages from an old dictionary.

To make the banner I used some pages from an old dictionary. I gently ripped out some pages that had fallish {if that's a word} words on them like thanksgiving, leaves, etc.

I folded the pages into fourths and then tore them along the fold lines. I liked the look of the rough edges. I used scissors to make the banner shape.

I used foam stamps and paint to stamp on my letters.

I used my hot glue gun to attach the papers onto a piece of twine.
