Cafe Press review

Last month I shared with you a new site that I was introduced to called CAFE PRESS. If you missed that post you can find it here.

I was given the opportunity to pick out a few items to review for you. I must say that once I got to shopping on their website I had a difficult time narrowing down my order. They have a nice selection of chevron shower curtains that I'm in love with {thinking about a little makeover in the kids bathroom soon}!

I finally decided on two t-shirts for my daughter and a canvas bag for myself {typical mom fashion...kids first}.

I literally spent an hour just looking at t-shirts and came across a section of unicorn tops...LOL! Once I saw that my decision was made. Let me explain...my thirteen year old {tomboy} daughter has a huge unicorn obsession {weird I know}. I knew she would flip out for these shirts, and I was right she absolutely loved them.

She insisted her giant unicorn join her!

Anyway, I was really happy with the shirts when they arrived. They weren't too thin {some shirts are so thin she has to wear a tank underneath} good quality material.

I ordered myself a canvas bag to help haul all my stuff to my kids activities; keys, cell phone, book, water bottle, etc. I had to have the chevron one of course!

I really love the colors of the design, coral and mint green. Plus it's the perfect size to carry to soccer games, dance practice, etc.

I definitely plan on shopping with them again in the future. Head on over and check out there wide range of products from home décor to clothing, many of which can be personalized for you.

Have a great day!

Country living fair

Yes, I'm still here! Sorry I've been a bit busy and didn't have time to get around to blogging last week. I started working on another mini room makeover and I'm hoping to get it finished this week!

Friday my partner in crime {aka my mom} and I made the two hour drive north to Columbus for the Country Living Fair! This was my second year to go, but I think we will make it a yearly tradition from now on!

So many creative ideas to look at there and soooo many people! I tried to take some photos for you but sometimes it was just impossible because of the crowds.

One of my favorite things were the initials cut out of books. Super cute idea, but the DIYer in me just couldn't pay $22. With the right tools maybe I could do this....

Lot's of graphic pillows

Magnets and folded books

What's not to love here?

What did I return home with? An old red letter C {random I know}, a monogram A necklace made from a domino, one perfectly shaped white pumpkin, and ton's of inspiration for future projects!

Can't wait to go back again next year!

Did any of you make it to the show in Columbus? If so what did you find?

Have a great day!

Cafe press

Today I want to share a little about an exciting site that I recently discovered....CAFE PRESS!

They offer tons of products including clothing, bags of all kinds, pet items, stickers, home décor {one of my favorite sections of course} stationary and lot's more. The best part is  most of their items can be personalized easily and quickly.

Today I want to show you some of the different styles of invitations that they offer.

Their holiday collection includes cards for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years.

They also have a collection dedicated to retirement.

If you are recently engaged or hosting a bachelorette party you'll want to check out their bachelorette invitations.

Because I love to plan birthday parties so much I could spend hours looking at all the different themed birthday invitations.  I wish I had found that mustache one when I was planning my daughter's "mustache bash" a few months ago!

Head on over to Cafe press to check out all that they offer {I promise you won't be disappointed}! I'm looking forward to shopping there myself!

Worlds longest yard sale finds

Last Friday I loaded up my mini van with my three kids and my mom and headed out for the worlds longest yard sale.

Okay, we didn't really have to go that far since I don't live too far off it's route. Anyway, the five of us spent the good part of Friday driving and shopping.

We saw some cool stuff and I regret not buying more, but I have a habit of talking myself out of things!

Here's what came home with me...

Total spent just $9.00

The white table is adorable it just needs a little TLC, and who can pass up inexpensive blue ball jars!

You'll for sure be seeing an "after" photo of that table in the near future.

Have a great day!

Back from vacation!

Why do vacations go so quickly? We spend months planning them and looking forward to them, and days packing for them only to have the week just fly by.
After a very very very long drive we spent a relaxing week right on the beach in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. We rented a small home directly on the beach, it was beautiful.
Here are just a few pics of our week.

Our family

Our pug Shadow enjoyed his first trip to the beach

We went on an awesome dolphin sight seeing boat tour and saw lot's of dolphins.

This was our view every evening at sunset.

As soon as we returned from vacation we celebrated my son's fourteenth birthday! We kept things simple with a cook out and swimming for our families. Too bad it rained most of the day...what's up with this weather?

The birthday boy

I also decided that it was a good time to start another room makeover. This time for my daughter who will be turning thirteen in August. I don't know what I was thinking because right now her room is turned upside down and our upstairs hallway is lined with her belongings. I'm trying to get everything cleared out so I can paint the trim and walls.

Tomorrow I will be spending the holiday with our family and friends. Fingers crossed no more rain! I hope you all have a wonderful fourth of July!

On vacation

I just wanted to share that I am leaving for a much needed family vacation tomorrow morning. We are packing up our mini van {three kids and a dog} and heading to Florida! Only 17 hours of driving {not including pit stops} till we can put our toes in the ocean!

You can follow along on instagram if you want to see what I'm up to!

Hope you have a great week!

Upstairs hallway transformation

If you've been following me for awhile you already know my battle with brown trim. I have finally conquered ALL of the trim on our main floor and have slowly been working my way  upstairs. Slowly because I despise painting trim!

Last fall I painted the trim in our master bedroom when I gave the room a much needed makeover, but that was the only trim upstairs that I touched. UNTIL NOW!

Two days and seven doorways later the hallway looks so much brighter!

This is the kids end of the hallway.
Yes, my kids hang junk precious labels on their bedroom doors, and yes it does drive me crazy. However, I have learned to pick my battles... so they stay {for now}.

I needed some art for the hallway so I used some pallet art that I had already made.

I also recycled some old frames by giving them a coat of spray paint. I found the free printables on Pinterest.

So much better and completed for FREE!

Only six more rooms to go!

concert ticket shadow box

Last weekend I took a little {2.5 hour} road trip with my favorite ladies {my mom, sister in law, niece, and my two lovely daughters} to Lexington, Kentucky to see a young lady by the name of Taylor Swift {you may have heard of her} perform at her red tour.

I was just as excited to see her concert as my daughters! And she did not disappoint, her show was amazing! Really good!

Since it was my girls first ever concert I wanted to do something special with their concert tickets. This is what I came up with for my youngest daughter.

Our concert journey began with a homemade sign.

My mom made each of the girls a little travel box filled with snacks and drinks for the drive and hotel stay.

Of course the girls all wore their Taylor Swift shirts to the concert and were very excited to see the famous squirrel pajamas on display!

My niece {in the black} and my daughters {in the red} holding their tickets!

At the concert!

I used a small shadow box from Ikea {I think it was $9.99}. I used some leftover fabric to cover the mat {the black and white looks great in her room}. I added a concert pic and the ticket along with a little scrapbooking card.

The perfect way to showcase her first concert experience!

Thanks for stopping by!
